全国地理信息资源目录服务系统www.webmap.cn国家基础地理信息中心（兼国家测绘档案资料馆）是国家测绘地理信息局直属事业单位，编制150人。主要职责是负责管理全国测绘成果资料和档案资料；负责国家级基础地理信息系统建设、维护、更新、开发以及有关研究工作，承担国家测绘地理信息局下达的专题数据库的建库工作；承担国家测绘地理信息局交办的基础测绘和重大测绘项目。 国家基础地理信息中心是全国甲级测绘资格单位，可向国家有关部门和单位提供多比例尺模拟和数字地图；可提供国家天文大地网、GPS网、重力网、大地水准面等多精度空间基准成果；可提供处理后的多分辨率航空和卫星遥感影像资料；可提供测绘成果档案服务。在专题地理信息系统设计与开发、电子地图制作、数据库建设及其相关软件的开发应用、NFGIS标准研究、技术咨询等方面，有较丰富的经验和较雄厚的实力。并设立了博士后科研工作站和工程技术研究中心。 国家基础地理信息中心是《地理信息世界》专业期刊的主要主办单位，承担全国地理信息标准化技术委员会秘书处和ISO/TC 211国内技术归口办公室工作，中国测绘学会的会员（理事）单位，多名专家分别在国际摄影
